How to Choose the Best Photo for Custom Paint by Numbers

What photo is best for custom paint by numbers? A clear, well-lit photograph with a recognisable main subject and good contrast is usually best. Pet portraits, family photographs and favourite travel memories can all make meaningful personalised artwork.

Choose a sharp, high-quality photograph

Pick a picture where the important details, such as a face or a pet's features, are in focus. Avoid very dark or heavily filtered images and photographs with motion blur.

Keep your subject prominent

One or two clear subjects often translate more naturally into a numbered painting than an image with many distant faces or a cluttered background.

Consider cropping and canvas proportions

Leave space around faces, ears or landmarks. The custom paint by numbers kit lists a 40 × 50 cm canvas, so check how your important details will fit within that format.

Choose your framing option

The custom product has With Frame and Without Frame options. Check the selected price at checkout and read our framing guide if you're unsure.

Upload your image and order

Open Custom Paint by Numbers Australia, select a frame option, upload your photograph using the product's photo-upload control, then add the product to your cart and finish checkout.
